Who we are
Embark Routes (embarkroutes.com) is an independent website run by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. For anything about this policy or your data, email [email protected].
What we collect
You don't need an account to use Embark Routes, and we don't ask for your name or contact details. The places, dates and travellers you enter into the search stay in your browser and are only used to build the results and links on the page.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.
Cookies and analytics
We don't currently set advertising or tracking cookies. Sponsored spaces on the site are shown without tracking. If we add a third-party advertising network in future, we'll ask for your consent first and update this page. To understand how many people visit and which pages are popular, we may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites.
Services we rely on
- Cloudflare hosts the website and keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability.
- cdnjs (run by Cloudflare) and Google Fonts deliver some code and fonts, so your browser connects to them when a page loads.
Affiliate links and partner sites
Some links take you to booking sites such as Booking.com, Skyscanner or Rome2Rio. When you click one, that site may set its own cookies and record that you came from us, so we can earn a commission. Their own privacy policies apply once you're on their site. We use Travelpayouts, an affiliate network, to turn some of our links into tracked partner links. Its script loads on our pages and may record that a click came from Embark Routes; see the Travelpayouts privacy policy for details.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you, and you can object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we use data, for example by adding an email newsletter, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
